Funeral services set for Prattville HS grad killed in crash

Funeral services have been set for a Prattville teenager killed in a car crash on Interstate 65, days after her high school graduation and weeks before she was set to start her military career.

Prattville High School teacher Obed Ellis talked to WSFA, and told us that Christian had graduated from the high school on Friday. According to Ellis, Christian worked a job to support herself and lived on her own, while also taking care of her two siblings. She had enlisted in the Army and was planning on attending basic training this summer.

A single-vehicle crash on Sunday in Chilton County claimed the life of a Prattville teenager.

Alabama State Troopers say 18-year-old Christy Christian was killed when the 2005 Nissan Altima she was driving, left the roadway and overturned. The accident occurred at 3:13 a.m. on Interstate 65 southbound at mile marker 214, which is two miles north of Clanton.
