Lawmen on scene of fatal Blount County crash; at least 1 child reported dead

Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel said one child was pronounced dead at the scene. Another child about the same age was taken to Children's of Alabama with serious injuries.

UPDATE: 2 children, 1 adult dead after two-vehicle crash in Blount Co.

According to ALEA state troopers, 47-year-old Deana Whitfield of Locust Fork was driving a Cadillac SRX that collided with a Jeep Cherokee driven by an unidentified 16-year-old from Blountsville.

1 dead, 5 injured in Blount County crash; 3 helicopters sent to scene

Blount County has had a spate of deadly car crashes in recent weeks, including nine killed in a period of just 10 days.
