2 killed in head-on collision in Blount County

Blount County Coroner Mark Vaughn said a vehicle crossed the median and crashed head-on into an oncoming vehicle. Alabama State Troopers are investigating a car crash in Blount County that claimed two lives Monday evening. The other driver was identified as Nelson Byess, 68, of north Blount County. Vaughn identified the driver of the vehicle that crossed over as Robert Marsh, 52, of Oneonta. The wreck was on Alabama 75 just south of Oneonta near the 23 mile marker.
