Authorities said Harris' 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Monday night.

"Most people knew him because he didn't allow you any other option to get to know him, pretty outgoing individual, little mischevious, but likeable, you know," Assistant Principal Tommy Smitherman said.
A 16-year-old St. Clair County teen died Monday after a single-vehicle crash. The Alabama State Troopers today identified the teen as Jonathan Harris. The crash happened about 9:45 a.m. Saturday on Roberts Mill Pond Road, three miles west of Pell City. Authorities said Harris' 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Monday night. The crash remains under investigation. Harris was a sophomore at Moody High School where he was a football player and a wrestler.
