A Cottondale woman has died, several days after she was involved in a wreck in Tuscaloosa County.

A Cottondale woman has died at UAB Hospital in Birmingham after being seriously injured in a single-car accident outside of Tuscaloosa Saturday night.

According to a Alabama State Troopers spokesman, 65-year-old Shawnee Box Corley was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus on Highway 216 around 9:20 Saturday night when her vehicle left the road and struck a culvert.
Summerville said Corley wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was badly injured in the accident, which occurred about three miles east of Tuscaloosa. Corley has been at UAB since the accident, and succumbed to her injuries sometime Wednesday.
Summerville said State Troopers continue to investigate the accident, but had no further information as of Wednesday afternoon.
