Troy student’s family searches for dog after crash

While the family waits on edge for Kempton’s recovery, they are also seeking the public’s help in finding Kempton’s furry companion—her dog Bentley.

“He’s very much her baby,” Andrea Kempton said. “Bentley is the friendliest dog, and I think if he saw a person he’d be very friendly to them and go right up to them. He’s very well groomed, so no one could think he’s a stray.”

Beloved dog goes missing in crash that seriously injures Troy University student

Six days later, Kempton is responsive and talking to family members.

Kempton is asking about her beloved dog, Bentley, a 5-year-old golden retriever mix, who went missing in the crash on Coffee County 189 in the Perry Store community, Dothan First reported.

"None of the responders were aware he was there. He was actually seen at the scene of the accident the following day," Kempton's mother, Andrea, told the news station.
