A two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon in Peoria sent five people to the hospital, officials said.

The driver of an SUV traveling on Bell Road was attempting to make a left turn onto 91st Avenue when the vehicle collided with a hatchback car traveling in the opposite direction. The accident happened Sunday afternoon in Peoria. One person with serious injuries and four others with minor injuries were taken to a nearby hospital. The patients were a mix from both vehicles, and one person involved in the crash refused treatment.
