Police said 33-year-old Lesley Venable and a man were walking in the bike lane on Norterra Parkway near Interstate 17 and Happy Valley Road about 2 a.m. Thursday when a car hit the woman, killing her. Investigators said the vehicle likely missed the man by just inches.
Phoenix police said a man and a woman were walking in the bike lane on Norterra Parkway when a car struck the woman, killing her. The man was not hurt. The driver fled the scene, and police do not yet have a description of the vehicle. Jeofrey Mutinda Kavu was arrested in connection to the crash.
