Police in Surprise say a pilot only came away with minor injuries after crashing a single-engine aircraft Saturday.

A single-engine aircraft made a hard landing near Loop 303 and Cactus Road after having taken off from Glendale Airpark. The pilot was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment. His injuries were described as minor. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
