Karla Mendoza, 21, and Emiliano Mendoza, 5, killed, and two people injured in two-vehicle rollover crash on State Route 99 in Bakersfield, California

Officials say a Jeep was rear-ended by a truck and rolled on the highway ejecting two children out of the vehicle. That Jeep then caught on fire, and good samaritans had pulled one of the two adult occupants from the vehicle.

Mejia was allegedly driving drunk and was later arrested. He is facing drunk driving charges. His bail is set at $130,000 and is due in court this Tuesday.
