The first incident happened just before 5:00 am at Cottonwood Road and northbound I-5 in Merced County.
Five people, including 2 children, killed in crashes in Merced County, CHP says
he van’s driver, a 57-year-old man, and two girls ages 6 and 10 suffered fatal injuries. CHP said they were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released, but officers said they are from Covina.
