Police Say They Tried to Stop Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

Due to the drivers’ extreme speed and unpredictability, the officer decided not to pursue, according to the release.

Motorcyclist dies while fleeing police in Burbank

Police are investigating the crash and ask that witnesses call the Burbank Police Department's Traffic Bureau at (818) 238-3100. 
Sometime in the morning, a police officer noticed a motorcyclist driving irregularly and at a high speed and attempted to pursue him, but had to back out due to the dangerous way the motorcyclist was driving, including crossing into lanes of oncoming traffic. The officer then drove the direction the motorcyclist had been going to find that he had struck both a fire hydrant and a light pole, leaving the 40-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene.
