The crash, which also involved a smaller car, took place on the 126 at Chiquito Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. State Route 126 was shut down in both directions due to the crash.

At least one other person was seriously injured and taken to a hospital, said Inspector David Dantic of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The multi-vehicle crash involving at least two big rigs and as many as three cars happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, leaving one of the trucks in the slow lane of eastbound Highway 126 traffic with a crushed cab. The second big rig, also with a crushed cab, was left on its side in the eastbound left-turn lane onto Chiquito Canyon, according to early reports from the California Highway Patrol.

The crash, which was reported near Chiquito Canyon Road around 9:30 a.m., involved a passenger vehicle and two tractor trailers. Both sides of the roadway have been closed for the investigation. Motorists were advised to use the 118 Freeway and Highway 23 as alternate routes. The injured victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
