18-month-old Gerardo Chavez Morales killed and woman seriously after being struck by vehicle on West Nordhoff Street in North Hills area of Los Angeles, California
The child was gravely injured in the collision, which occurred about 7:30 a.m. in the 15500 block of West Nordhoff Street, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement. The woman was listed in serious condition.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 7:35 a.m. to the 15500 block of West Nordhoff, where witnesses said at least one of the vehicles “bounced” into a wall, injuring the child and woman, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Gerardo Chavez Morales of North Hills was struck about 7:35 a.m. Sunday on Nordhoff Street at Langdon Avenue and died at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to police, a silver 2016 Honda HRV was westbound on Nordhoff Street, turning left to go south on Langdon Avenue, when it was struck by a gray car, believed to be a four-door Toyota Camry, that was eastbound on Nordhoff Stre
The two victims were standing on a corner near a food cart when a silver 2016 Honda HRV turning left onto Langdon Avenue from westbound Nordhoff sideswiped an approaching vehicle going north on Nordhoff.
