Alejandro Garcia, 30, struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing the street at Vanowen Street and Vineland Avenue in Los Angeles, California

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded at approximately 11:15 p.m. Friday to Vanowen Street and Vineland Avenue, where they learned the victim was crossing the street at Vanowen when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old woman, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
