Sun Valley man Roberto Barragan, 22, was arrested Tuesday, October 7 following a deadly traffic collision in the Northridge area. The crash occured Friday, October 3, and left 18-year-old passenger, Brandon Mendoza, dead at the scene. Barragan and one other passenger were injured. The Chevy Silverado truck, which held three passengers, was travelling down an eastbound alley, north of Parthenia Street at Quartz Avenue, when it hit a 2002 Toyota RAV4, causing the vehicle to hit a wall. The incident occured around 7:45 p.m. Friday. Barragan was arrested on suspicion of impairment, though no charges have been pressed as of Tuesday.
