A 61-year-old woman has died after she and her 32-year-old daughter were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Monica early Saturday morning.
A 61-year-old woman has died after she and her 32-year-old daughter were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Monica early Saturday morning. A vehicle struck the two pedestrians around 1 a.m. on the 1600 block of Ocean Avenue, just south of Seaside Terrace as they were crossing the street, Santa Monica Police said. The pair were not crossing the street at a crosswalk, officials said. According to police, the vehicle fled without stopping. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver sports coupe with tinted windows. The suspect has been described as a Caucasian male. The mother was a resident of Wisconsin and her daughter is a resident in Santa Monica. The mother suffered severe head trauma and died as a result of her injuries. The daughter suffered only minor injuries. The Ocean Avenue exit off of Pacific Coast Highway was closed for a few hours Saturday morning as police investigated the accident.
