Alma Aragon and one child killed when vehicle the roadway and struck two pedestrians near the intersection of 83rd Street and Western Avenue in South Los Angeles, California

The collision happened at about 1:30 p.m. close to a bus stop near the intersection of W. 83rd Street and S. Western Avenue. The Los Angeles Police Department said that one car traveling southbound crashed into another car as it pulled out of a parking lot next to a liquor store.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday at 1758 W. 83rd St., just east of Western Avenue and several blocks south of Florence Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Alexa and her mother, 26-year-old Alma Aragon, were waiting at a bus stop in the 1700 block of West 83rd Street about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when they were hit by an SUV, the LAPD said.
