Two pedestrians killed in crashes within an hour in South LA
The first crash happened just before 11 p.m. when a car driving northbound on Western Avenue ran into a pedestrian who was crossing the street near 247th Place in the Lomita area. Once the pedestrian was down in the street, they were struck by two additional cars, both of which also fled from the scene.

A pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run in the Lomita area on New Year’s Eve was identified Tuesday. The man was struck by three vehicles while crossing the street about 11 p.m. Sunday on Western Avenue near 247th Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
