1 Dead, 6 Others Injured in 405 Fwy Crash in Van Nuys

One person was dead and six others injured after a multi-vehicle crash involving a big rig in Van Nuys, LAFD said. The California Highway Patrol closed all northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway at Sherman Way. A total of seven people were involved, including children. Their conditions ranged from fair to grave, according to LAFD's Erik Scott. The collision was reported at about 12:45 p.m.

FATHER, DAUGHTER KILLED IN CAR CRASH ON 405 FREEWAY IN VAN NUYS

The father of a family in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife and their three children were taken to the hospital. One of the children was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Three patients in the box truck were transported to the hospital in fair condition.
