Pedestrian Killed After Hit-and-Run Collision in Van Nuys

Police were searching for a hit-and-run driver that killed a pedestrian Friday night in Van Nuys, authorities said. The accident was reported just before midnight near the intersection of Haskell Street and Vanowen Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no description of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run collision.

Reward for Deadly Hit and Run in Van Nuys

Los Angeles: A $50,000 reward will be given to anyone who provides information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the hit and run suspect who killed a pedestrian. On Friday November 27, 2015, at approximately 11:50 p.m., the suspect's vehicle was travelling westbound on Vanowen Street west of Firmament Avenue when a pedestrian crossing the street was hit. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene. The vehicle was last seen westbound on Vanowen Street. The victim has been identified as a 33-year-old male resident of Los Angeles and notification to the next of kin was pending as of the release of this statement.
