Sunset Boulevard was closed between San Vicente Boulevard and Holloway Drive following the crash, the Sheriff’s Department stated in an email about 5:40 a.m.

The coroner’s office Sunday released the name of a 45-year-old man who died in a single-car crash in West Hollywood that left a trail of destruction along Sunset Boulevard.
He was identified as Lawrence Simons of Los Angeles.
