A 2004 Infiniti was traveling at a high rate of speed on Fountain Avenue when it sideswiped a parked vehicle, Mandujan said. The car then collided with a light pole, struck a fence and came to rest upside down in the westbound lanes of Fountain Avenue, west of Stanley Avenue, Mandujan said.

Of the vehicle’s four occupants, one female passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified by the coroner’s office as Nicole Alas, 22, of Montebello.
