Two Killed in Fiery Crash in Huntington Beach

Police determined the vehicle was traveling southbound on Edwards Street at a high speed when the vehicle lost control over a bridge, crashed into an apartment building and caught fire, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The car ended up crashing at the Casa Monterrey Apartment Homes, 6551 Warner Ave., where it caught fire.

“Several good Samaritans heard the crash and pulled the two victims out of the car,” Marlatt said. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were identified as 18-year-old Hachim Ali Awad of the class of 2015, and Ali Diba Nourollahi, 19, of the class of 2014, officials said. The victims were both declared dead at the scene.

Witnesses at the scene said they did all they could to help. They said they pulled the two victims out of the wreckage and one witness said she performed CPR on one of the victims.
