At least four people were killed early Wednesday when a semi-truck jackknifed on Interstate 10 and caused a tour bus to overturn near the California-Arizona border, according to local media.
The accident occurred around 2:15 a.m. at a border inspection station east of Blythe, Calif., according to California Highway patrol officials, ABC7 reports.
The four dead were passengers on the bus, which is owned by El Paso-Los Angeles Limousine Express, Inc., according to ABC7. The low-cost bus service was en route from El Paso to Los Angeles via Phoenix.
At least 12 people were transported to hospital either by ambulance or helicopter. The crash blocked both eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway.
