One person was killed and two others were injured in a collision involving bicyclists and a vehicle witnesses said was moving at 100 mph along the Tour de Palm Springs route on Saturday, near Indio Hills.

Ronnie R. Huerta Jr. of Desert Hot Springs was arrested at 12:53 p.m. Saturday and booked into the Indio Jail for suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, according to jail records.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported Monday that the 21-year-old's license had been suspended since Dec. 4 for being a negligent vehicle operator and failures to appear.
