28-year-old man dead and 48-year-old woman with major injuries after head-on crash involving three vehicles on Highway 88 near Clements, CA

According to witnesses, a 28-year-old man was driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed south on Highway 88 for several minutes, when he for some reason crossed into the northbound lane and struck a car driven by a 48-year-old woman head-on. A car driven by a 66-year-old man that was behind the woman also struck her. The 28-year-old man's car ended up off of the roadway and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 48-year-old woman sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital, while the 66-year-old man sustained only minor injuries. We will add more information as it becomes available
