Sacramento police seek hit-and-run driver in bicyclist’s death

Police are asking for the community’s help in identifying the vehicle and driver that left the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department’s Hit-and-Run Tip Line at 916-808-6030, the dispatch center at 916-264-5471, or Crime Alert at 916-443-4357. Tips also may be sent via text message to 274637. Enter SACTIP, followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Natomas: Hit and Run Collision

Unfortunately tragedies involving hit and run accidents occur quite  often and with no information available for the responsible parties people often question if this type of collision would be covered through insurance. The answer is yes, hit and run injuries are covered by auto insurance through theuninsured motorist portion of the policy.
The collision occurred in the westbound lane of West El Camino Avenue on the Interstate 5 overcrossing. A 61-year-old man was found on the sidewalk on the north side of West El Camino Avenue with a damaged bicycle. The man, David Heredia of Sacramento, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Authorities are looking for witnesses to the collision.
