There were 55 passengers on the bus and one passenger received minor injuries, but was not transferred to the hospital. The bus was carrying Tesla employees who were headed to Stockton. The tour bus had just left their Tesla Fremont facilities.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the crash “took the life of our deputy.”
The deputy, whose identity has not been released, had just gotten off work and was headed home on the eastbound Interstate 580 near Tracy in Alameda County, said Officer Derek Reed, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.

It would have been Khin's 51st birthday on Saturday. He reportedly just finished an overtime shift before the crash.
