A pedestrian has been hit and killed by a train in Truckee Wednesday afternoon, police say.
The collision happened around 1:40 p.m., according to the Truckee Police Department.
First responders to the scene found that a person, later identified as Janaki Rose Hayes, 27, had been hit and killed by a train under the Highway 267 overpass. The train stopped after the collision and it remains at the scene.
Police say traffic has not been impacted.
