Turlock Fire and police officers responded to the scene and found that a 41-year-old man had been struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was hit by a northbound freight train on the tracks east of West Olive Avenue and North First Street at about 2:37 a.m., according to Turlock police.
