Second Suspect Surrenders in Fatal Rancho Cucamonga Street-Racing Crash

The second driver sought in connection with a street-racing crash that left a father dead in Rancho Cucamonga turned himself into police Saturday, police said. Police arrested a suspect in a crash that killed a father and were searching for a second person in connection with the incident. Jimmy Awolesi, a 22 year old resident of Fontana, turned himself in at the West Valley Detention Center, the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department said. Witnesses saw two black Ford Mustangs racing on Rochester Avenue from Arrow Route on Wednesday, police said. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 46-year-old Julio Lopez of Pomona, died after the crash.
