Cars fall down embankment on N I-5 near Via De La Valle in Del Mar

Emergency crews were at the scene of a multi-car crash on north Interstate 5 near Via de la Valle in Del Mar involving at least four vehicles.

The crash seemed to have been caused by the slick roadways.

At 5 a.m., there was a report of a crash involving a Lincoln Continental that went down an embankment and became submerged in water.

Then, another driver crashed his vehicle after hydroplaning. He told media sources that he hit a center divider and spun across lanes. Minutes after that crash, another vehicle rolled down an embankment. According to the CHP website, at least three vehicles went down an embankment in that area.
