Alonso Flores Pacheco 81, struck and killed by hit and run driver while crossing street in San Ysidro.

The elderly man killed in a hit-and-run crash in San Ysidro Sunday was identified as Alonso Flores Pacheco, the Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday.

Pacheco, 81, was walking south across East San Ysidro Boulevard when he was struck by a westbound car, San Diego police said Sunday.

Pacheco died at the scene, police said.

The driver fled west from the crash on East San Ysidro Boulevard in a car witnesses described as a dark, 1990s-model, four-door sedan with oxidized paint on its roof.

Witnesses also said two men were inside the car, and that it was missing the driver’s side window and had serious damage to its left front end, the California Highway Patrol website said.
