REGIONAL: Napa County officials report on rash of motorcycle crashes
The CHP's Napa Area office reported that there were three major injury motorcycle crashes in less than an hour last Sunday, May 24. None of the riders or the occupants were from Napa.
59-year-old Jon Spiegel of Vacaville was unable to negotiate a curve on southbound Monticello Road at around 4:35 p.m. The motorcycle went down, leaving Spiegel with major injuries, and his passenger, 59-year-old Connie Kabeary of San Pablo, with minor injuries. Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
