At least one person has died in a crash between a bus and another vehicle in Antioch on Thursday morning, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

As the investigation continues, he said police will try to determine the approximate speed of the two vehicles as well as whether the Saturn ran a stop sign. Depending on the model of the car, they also might be able to determine whether the driver was wearing a seat belt, Orman said.

Driver killed, others hurt as car and bus collide in Antioch

A sedan and a bus collided violently in Antioch on Thursday morning, killing the car’s driver and injuring several people on the bus, authorities said.

Antonio Correa, 27, of Antioch was ejected from his car after a Tri Delta Transit bus struck his car, according to police.
A crash between a Tri Delta Transit bus and a car was reported at 5:46 in the area of Burwood Way and Davison Drive in Antioch Thursday morning. The bus was eastbound on Davison Drive, and the car was northbound on Burwood when bus driver says that the car pulled in front of the bus at the intersection. The bus driver attempted to swerve and ended up on a hill. The car was crushed in the collision. The car driver was ejected from his car, a Saturn, and was dead at the scene. Four bus passengers were brought to the hospital.
