The 18-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck toward downtown Concord when she apparently ran a red light and collided with a compact car making a left from Ayers Road to go in the opposite direction, police said.

At around 11:20 a.m. one car was trying to make a left from Ayers Road when it collided with anothe car going in the opposite direction on Clayton Boulevard. One person died, and the other was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
