Fatal traffic collision kills two in Sonoma County

State Route-121 was shut down to traffic from Napa Road to Ramal Road for just under four hours.

On Wednesday morning, 78-year-old Richard Steinhart was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion when it collided head-on with a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado work pickup driven by Christopher Shuman, 27, of American Canyon. Richard Steinhart's passenger, 72-year-old Fay Steinhart, died at the scene of the accident, which happened on rural Highway 121. Richard was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, where he later died. Shuman had reportedly minor injuries. Details on how the crash occurred are not available.
