The San Francisco Medical Examiner on Sunday identified the two men killed in an accident at a granite company as Hector Vazquez, 46, of Oakland, and Philip Marich, 53, of South San Francisco.

City fire crews responding to a call around 10:15 a.m. at 1525 Cortland Ave. found two men trapped after a large slab of granite fell, pinning them in a container, said a San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman.
Firefighters worked to extricate the men for roughly 15 minutes. One man later identified as Hector Vazquez 46, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other man, Philip Marich 53, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Cal/OSHA, the state's workplace safety regulator, will conduct an investigation into the workers' injuries.
