3 injured when motorcycle collides with pedestrians

Police are continuing to investigate why a motorcycle collided into several people Wednesday night on Market Street in San Francisco. One of the pedestrians suffered injuries that were life threatening and was in surgery early Thursday morning, and the other pedestrian suffered lacerations to the head but is expected to survive, police said. Officers responded at 9:10 p.m. to the intersection of Market and Third streets on a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and several pedestrians. Investigators with the San Francisco Police Department's Traffic Collision Investigations Unit will be handling the case to determine the cause of the collision, police said. Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Suspected DUI Motorcyclist Remembered

A 39-year-old San Francisco man killed last week after a motorcyclist crashed into him and another pedestrian was remembered in a memorial held Tuesday. A motorcyclist slid into several pedestrians in San Francisco on Wednesday night in San Francisco, sending the cyclist and two others to the hospital. Gregory Ihm suffered serious head trauma in the collision and succumbed to his injuries on July 2. The San Francisco Sheriff's Department said that McGinnis is in custody with bail set at $500,000. Gatpandan said McGinnis on Monday was booked for felony DUI alcohol causing bodily injury, felony DUI drugs causing bodily injury and felony vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
