Motorcycle police officer seriously injured after hit by car that ran red light on Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale, CA

The driver was found to not be under the influence, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
At about 9:30pm, two California Highway Patrol officers that were on motorcycles were exiting Highway 101 onto Lawrence Expressway when a car traveling the opposite direction as them ran a red light and struck one of the officers. The officer was sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. Check back for updates on this accident.
