Driver critically injured in crash with box truck on Whipple Road in Union City, California

A person was driving on Whipple Road and struck a box truck as it was turning left onto Whipple from Northbound Central. Emergency responders had to extricate the driver from his car; he was then transported to a local medical center with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the box truck suffered only minor injuries. No names have been released yet.
