Ridgefield Dean of Students Kevin Callahan was arrested for drunk driving in Fairfield Sunday after police say he hit a concrete barrier and then a tree.

"The charges are concerning because Mr. Callahan is an educator and role model forRidgefield High School students," Low wrote in a statement, adding that the district heard about the arrest on Monday. "Mr. Callahan has worked in Ridgefield for 16 years and ... is recognized as a valued member of the RHS faculty."

Ridgefield High Coach, Dean Charged With DUI: School

A coach, physical education teacher and dean of students at Ridgefield High School was arrested over the weekend and charged with driving under the influence, according to a statement from the superintendent of schools in Ridgefield.
Kevin Callahan was driving in Fairfield when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a concrete barrier, and a tree. He reportedly told officers that he was looking at his phone during the crash, but officers found an open bottle of vodka in the car. He allegedly later admitted to being under the influence.
