Driver Killed, State Worker Hurt In Merritt Parkway Crashes
A man died in a car collision on the Merritt Parkway and a DOT worker was seriously injured while on the scene early Sunday at around 1:43 a.m. The crash occurred when a Subaru Impreza was traveling on Route 15 when it crashed into the rear of a Honda Civic, causing both vehicles to lose control. The driver of the Honda, 27-year-old Jesus Rivera, was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he died. The passenger, 20-year-old Jessica Dasilva, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Suba Imprez, 26-year-old Jonathan Rosa-Witlock, was also transported to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A Toyota Corolla, driven by 24-year-old Denisse Garcia, then collided with a DOT truck and then crashed into 54-year-old,Kevin Holloran, who was a DOT worker standing outside the truck. He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital with serious injuries.
