The man was bicycling east on Arthur Avenue near Kansas Road, along the edge of the road, when a sedan hit the man from behind, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Lehigh Acres man then landed on the sidewalk, shoulder area of the road and was transported to an area hospital. FHP said he suffered serious injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.
