Shawn Earl Sullivan killed in car accident in Jacksonville FL.

Officials are investigating the death of a man and what caused him to veer off the road in his truck, swiping a tree, then coming to rest in the median of the road Sunday morning.

Officials said 55-year-old Shawn Earl Sullivan was traveling westbound on Wonderwood Drive around 9:55 a.m. when he traveled over the raised concrete curb, striking a small JTS Community Shuttle sign.

Sullivan then continued off of the curb and across all westbound lanes of Wonderwood Drive, going in the southwest direction before traveling over another curb and onto the center grass median.

Sullivan's vehicle sideswiped a small tree before coming to rest in the center grass median.
