By ground and air, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was searching for a motorcyclist-involved in a crash on I-95 before leaving the scene.

It happened just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

Three Northbound lanes at West 8th street were shut down as investigators worked to clear the scene.

Police said the motorcyclist lost control and flew off of his bike before landing on the back of a car. Police say his motorcycle was run over by a truck before he got into another car and took off.

Investigators were checking local hospitals and searching by helicopter to try and find the rider.

One witness believes he may have been travelling close to 100 miles per hour.

"Yea he was stopping so hard on his motorcycle that his back tires just went up," a witness said. "The driver looked up and he was in her back seat." No one was hurt.

Investigators said the man has a medium build and was wearing a motorcycle jacket.

Once the rider is located, police said he will face charges.
