"Fortunately good Samaritans stopped. A bunch of people helped out and used their cars to block the road to get traffic to go around the child. The child was laying in the middle lane when I arrived," said JSO Sgt. Rob Beers.
A woman is in critical condition two days after a rollover car crash in which her vehicle struck a wall and rolled multiple times on Interstate 95 in Jacksonville. Her 8-year-old grandson, Malachi Robinson-Phillips, was ejected from the car. The boy's injuries were reported to be not life-threatening. Authorities said Mary Windley, 67, was heading north near the Norwood Avenue exit just before 11 a.m. when her Chevrolet sedan collided with the barrier wall and flipped over. Windley had to be cut out of the vehicle. There was no information about the child's condition. Authorities said neither of the victims was wearing a seat belt.
