Man dies in Atlantic Boulevard crash

Daniel Johnson, 35, was traveling eastbound on Atlantic Boulevard at the intersection of Indian Springs Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. Brian Gomer, 43, of Jacksonville, was traveling westbound on Atlantic Boulevard at that same intersection. A Jacksonville man died in a crash on the Southside Friday night when another driver pulled into his path, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Johnson traveled off the road and struck several large trees, according to the FHP report. Troopers said Gomer failed to yield and turned left into Johnson's path.
