Motorcyclist killed in crash along I-595; 3 westbound lanes blocked

The crash happened about 5:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes just east of State Road 7, agency spokesman Sgt. Three westbound lanes are closed. A motorcycle crashed with a car along Interstate 595 in Davie on Friday, killing the motorcyclist and injuring at least one other, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesman said. Fire rescue units from Davie and Fort Lauderdale responded to the crash. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Wysocky said.

Motorcyclist, 46, killed in Davie crash identified

The Florida Highway Patrol on Saturday identified a 46-year-old motorcyclist killed in a three-vehicle collision along Interstate 595 in Davie. The motorcycle continued traveling on the roadway and struck a 2006 Dodge Charger that was also traveling west on I-595. Aaron Clarence Welch, 37, was behind the wheel of the Charger and was not hurt. Heidlebaugh, who was not wearing a helmet, struck the rear right side of a 2013 Chevrolet Impala and was ejected from the motorcycle onto a highway shoulder, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Gueldie Alcime Moore, 31, of Fort Lauderdale, was driving the Impala and had minor injuries.
